Blogger enuii

For now at least…

So much to say, so little time, energy or will left to do so. The past few weeks have been rough here in Jackson. There has been some illness, some loss, and a whole lot of craziness. Once we get our feet back on the ground, the postings will start again.

Until then, why not check out the archives?

  2. I've been meaning to let you know how much I've been enjoying your blog for a couple of months now, but seeing your post today kicked me into sending it now. I found your blog at the end of summer through clicking on links of friends' blogs (your title caught my eye). I've been moved to tears and laughed out loud. I kind of feel like I know you and want to have you over for dinner (lol : )

Also, I'd like to throw in my 2 cents re: some older posts.

A GREAT cookbook for kids is Kids Cook 1-2-3 by Rozanne Gold (2006). All recipes consist of only 3 ingredients. And there are some REALLY delicious recipes in there - you'll be pleasantly surprised! (And I think the design/illustrations will appeal to the artist in you).

The other thing is that when you were discussing libraries and children's books, there were a couple of my favourites I wanted to throw in the ring. First is Harvey's Hideout by Russell & Lillian Hoban (of Bread and Jam for Frances fame). It's just the best book for brothers and sisters. A real gem. Another one that a book store owner turned me onto when I was looking for a great book for my (then) young daughter, was A New Coat for Anna by Harriet Ziefert. It's set in Europe, close to the end of WW2. Anna needs a new coat but there have no money, and the story follows how after a year of creatively trading goods and services she gets her coat in time for the following winter. I could list a million more but this letter is getting a bit long...
Take care of yourselves over there in Michigan : )
